David L. "Rusty" Cole
1955-2019
David Cole of Bainbridge passed away July 4, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. He was a kind, gentle man with a heart of gold.
He was born in Sidney, NY on December 15, 1955 son of Nora Cole and the late Ralph Cole.
He met his wife, Paula Doyle, in high school, and together, they raised 2 children, Garrett and Monica.
David was a devoted family man who loved spending time with them as much as possible.
He worked at Spencer's Milk Co. for many years as a respected meat cutter. Later taking a job at Bendix/Amphenol as a machinist, Rusty retired from the Village of Sidney to his country home on the hill, where he was content to relax and enjoy retirement with family.
Over the years during his work career, he made many wonderful friends and often spoke fondly of them, laughing at all the great times they had.
He once made a photo collection of his many motorcycles, cars and trucks, which he was quite proud of.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Paula Cole; his mother, Nora; aunt, Anethma Ireland; sisters, Deb (Fred) Smith and Donna (Bob) Decker; son, Garrett (Anna Blinn); daughter, Monica; and his treasured granddaughter, June.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, July 11, 2019 in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Sidney. Donations in his memory may be made to any of the following organizations: Sidney EMS, Cobleskill EMS, Sidney United Methodist Church, or the Prospect Hill Cemetery Association.
