Obituary of Margaret Louise Whritenour

Margaret L. "Peg" Whritenour, 74, of Sidney, New York passed away peacefully on May 18, 2019 after a long illness.

Born on December 17, 1944 in Paterson, New Jersey, Peg was the third daughter of Albert and Jeanette (Struble) Whritenour. Peg was passionate about everything beautiful and meaningful. She found great joy in the newness of springtime, meadows filled with wildflowers, warm sunny days, music, and her family. An accomplished gardener, there was nothing that would not thrive in her care.

Peg is survived by her five children: Tom (Loraine), Karen (Chuck), MaryEllen (Jim), Bob (Kim), and Keith (Rosanna); her grandchildren Dorinda, Amanda, Chuck, Cierra, Kourtnee, Alivia, Tawni, Nikole, Makenzie, and Owen; her great-grandchildren Arron, Devon, Arilyn, Kinsley, and Cameron; and her great-great grandchildren Jayden and Aria. Also surviving are her sisters Barbara (Shy), Nancy (Stew), Janet (Don), Kathi (Bill), and Charlotte (Mike); her brother-in-law, Bob; and special friend, Greg.

She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Carol, and her granddaughter Tori.

Her family would like to thank Dr. Eric Bravin at Bassett Health and the EF staff of Crouse Community Center for their care and compassion, and for treating her with dignity.
