Roberta C. Cass
Nineveh—Roberta Clara Cass, 82, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2019 at Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City. She was born to the late Ray and Maude (Whitney) Cass on October 27, 1936 with twin brother Robert in Binghamton, NY.
Roberta graduated from SUNY Cobleskill with an Associate Degree in Food Service Administration in 1958. She worked as Food Service Director for the Children's Home of Wyoming Conference in Binghamton for 30 years, and Harpursville Central School for 13 years. She also helped her brother Robert run a dairy/beef farm until 2005.
In 1960, Roberta joined the Order of the Eastern Star, and served as a Grand Officer for 2 years. She was a longtime member of WARC in Afton and the American Legion Auxiliary in Harpursville.
Roberta is survived by: nephew, Charles Virgilio; niece, Elizabeth Rice and her husband, Thomas; nephew, Vito Virgilio and his wife, Tammy; grandnieces and nephews: Rachael Virgilio, Gina Virgilio, Alicia Rice, Afton Virgilio and Vito Virgilio.
She was predeceased by her twin brother Robert in 2011 and her sister-in-law, Joan in 2015.
Friends may call from 7:00-9:00pm on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney, NY 13838. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, March 25th at the funeral chapel. Burial will take place at a later date in Glenwood Cemetery, Afton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Children's Home of Wyoming Conference, 1182 Chenango St. Binghamton, NY 13901.
