Hazel J. Sheely, 100, of Sidney passed away Saturday, December 15, 2018 at the Norwich Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was born May 16, 1918, daughter of the late William and Lillian Cummings, in Pennsylvania. Hazel was married to Perry Shelton for 12 years. She then married Charles Spencer who predeceased her. She later married Emery E. Sheely on September 25, 1970; he predeceased on November 25, 1990. She was a member of the Sidney Moose Ladies Auxiliary and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by: Daughters: Barbara Finnerty and Peter Pearson of Masonville and Phyllis and Joseph Reynolds of Trout Creek; 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 7 great, great-grandchildren In addition to her parents and husbands, she was predeceased by four brothers and 5 sisters. Friends may call Thursday, December 20, from 2-6 PM at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St. Sidney. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 PM with Rev. Fred Albrecht officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery in Afton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Delaware Valley Humane Society, 101 E. Main St. Sidney, NY 13838.
