Gloria May (Bargher) Koegler, 67 of Riverside, Sidney, passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning, March 24, 2010 at her home. Gloria was born in Sidney on April 27, 1942 to John and Marian (Miner) Bargher. She graduated from Sidney Central School in 1960. On April 7, 1962, Gloria married Leo Louis Koegler at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sidney. Leo predeceased her on March 5, 1990. After graduating from high school, Gloria went to work in the marketing department at what is now the Amphenol Corporation in Sidney. After 45 years of service, she retired as Supervisor of Pricing. She was an active member of the Delaware Valley Humane Society, a past Auxiliary member of the McDonald Hose Company, Sidney Fire Department, a past member of the Sidney Women of the Moose, as well as an avid bowler. Gloria enjoyed her vacations in the south, Las Vegas and Alaska, and especially the annual sisters' trips. After retirement, she looked forward to the weekly coffee hour with her special longtime friends.

Eleven brothers and sisters: John Bargher and Geraldine Haynes of Guilford, Burdette Bargher and his wife Patricia of Sidney, Paul Bargher and his wife Jacqueline of Sidney, Robert Bargher of Sidney, Gary Bargher and Kay Marcy of Sidney, Barbara Delello and her husband John of Sidney, Marian Hoag and her husband Adelbert of Sidney, Sharon Delello and her husband John of Bainbridge, Darleen Ricci and her husband Peter of Cohoes, Marleen McTague and her husband Thomas of Cohoes, and Regina Teale and her husband Douglas of Sidney
Brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Carl and Carolyn Koegler of Quinton, VA
Thirty nieces and nephews and over fifty great nieces and nephews that really were her children
As well as several aunts, uncles and cousins
In addition to her husband, Gloria was predeceased by her mother and father, a nephew, Andrew Scott Crandall, and a niece, Kaylan Rae Bargher.
Gloria loved her family and was the one who always organized family events, especially the Annual Bargher Family Reunion held every July. She will always be remembered fondly and loved by her family and friends she left behind.
Friends are invited to call on Sunday, March 28, 2010 from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney, NY 13838. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on Monday, March 29, 2010 at Sacred Heart Church in Sidney, with Rev. Father Gordon Polenz as celebrant. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Sidney. Memorial contributions in Gloria's name may be directed to Catskill Area Hospice & Palliative Care, 1 Birchwood Dr. Oneonta, NY 13820.
