Obituary of Brian R. Fisher

Brian Randolf Fisher, 59, of Afton, passed away on October 28, 2018 at his home in Afton, NY surrounded by his beloved family after a brief battle with cancer.

 

Brian was born in Binghamton, NY to Morris and Donna Fisher on April 23, 1959.  He was a graduate of Susquehanna Valley High School, class of 1979.  He married Carol on July 26, 1980 in Afton, NY and they shared 38 wonderful years together. Brian “Flash” worked for Universal Instruments for 20 years before medically retiring. He spent the past 18 years taking care of his home, wife, kids, grandkids and anyone else that needed a helping hand.  He enjoyed the outdoors, including hunting, cutting fire wood and any other adventure/misadventure he could think up.

 

Brian is preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Donna Fisher and his brother-in-law’s and partners in misadventures Roger H. Ashworth and Chris Gohl.

 

Brian is survived by his wife, Carol A. Fisher; daughters:  Melissa (James) Kittle, Katherine (Brian) Hopkins and Heidi Fisher; his grandchildren:  Collin Dicks, James “JJ” S. Kittle, III, Emilie Hopkins, Gavin Dicks, Miles Kittle and Isaiah Hopkins. He is also survived by his brothers Scott Fisher, Kevin (Tammy) Fisher, Darin Fisher and Keith Fisher; his sister-in-law’s Cindy (Greg – partner in misadventure) Bales, Mary Ellen Warrick, Colleen Ashworth; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

 

Memorial Visitation will be held at C. H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney, NY on Thursday, November 1, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.  Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, November 2, 2018 at C. H. Landers Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Chris Prezorski of Afton First Baptist Church, officiating.  

 

Friends and Family wishing to memorialize Brian are asked to make a donation in his name to your local youth sports organization for the improvement of youth sports and athletes, or to your local Rod and Gun Club to aid in the training of future hunters.

 

The family of Brian R. Fisher wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Endwell Family Physicians, Dr. Tunick, UHS Pain Management Center, Cori Pane, FNP, Broome Oncology, Dr. Kloss, Dr. Khan, Dr. Chin, Cooperstown Transport, Lourdes Hospital with a special thank you to “Captain” Ron, Robin and Colleen of 1 West, Chenango County Hospice, Diane Spink, RN, CHPN.
