Edna Irma Ludwig, 86 of 1 Pearl Street East, Sidney passed away suddenly on July 5, 2018 in her home.
Edna was born on September 13, 1931 in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of the late Ludwig and Emilie Hoegler.
On Jan. 10, 1954 she married Paul Ludwig in Ridgewood Queens. They were happily married for 50 years.
Edna worked as an Office Manager for many years in New York City. After retiring and moving to Sidney, she took great pleasure in being an active volunteer in her community, especially with the Sacred Heart Church where she served as a member of the Rosary Alter Society, a Eucharistic Minister and Prayer Chain Organizer and was an active member of the Elks Club. She enjoyed gardening, was a terrific cook and an outstanding baker. Edna was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be missed dearly.
She was predeceased by her husband Paul Ludwig. She is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Pamela of King George, V.A., William of Old Bridge, N.J. and Stephen and Eleanor of Manlius, N.Y.; grandchildren Michael, William and wife Amber, Lissette, Emily and Katelyn; great grandchildren Archie, Adalai and William.
Visitation will be held at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney on Sunday, July 8th from 3 to 5 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Monday, July 9th from the Sacred Heart Church, 15 Liberty Street Sidney followed by burial in the Prospect Hill Cemetery, Sidney.
