Obituary of Marilyn F. Bourdon

Please share a memory of Marilyn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Marilyn F. Bourdon Unadilla, NY

Marilyn Francine Bourdon, 72, passed away on Wednesday evening, June 13, 2018, in her home.

She was born on August 17, 1945 in Manhattan, NY, daughter of the late Frank and Nora Niles.

While pursuing her education degree at Oneonta State, she met her future husband, Normand Bourdon. The two married in 1970 and settled in Unadilla where Lynn taught kindergarten for 35 years. Lynn and Norm had a son, Jeffrey, and a daughter, Patricia. Lynn was loved deeply by her students, friends, and family. She was the kind of teacher whose students came back to visit her years later. She was the kind of mother who knew everything about her children. When her husband was stricken with cancer, she stuck by him until his final moments, through everything.

Lynn will be profoundly missed by her children, her daughter-in-law, Darla, her son-in-law, Matt and her amazing granddaughter, Summer. She will be missed by her neighbors who helped her, especially Todd Haar. She will also be missed by her sisters, Kelli, Laurie, and Kathy; and her brothers, Bill and Mike, as well as their spouses, children, and grandchildren.

A memorial will take place on Saturday, August 11, 2018 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at Keith Clark Park Pavilion in Sidney, NY, rain or shine, to remember the lives of both Normand and Marilyn.
