Ronald J. Smith

Ronald James Smith, 81 of Bainbridge, passed away early Saturday morning, March 6, 2010 at the home of his son in Bainbridge. Ronald was born on September 19, 1928, son of the late Lewis and Lulu (Streinger) Smith in Bainbridge. On April 8, 1961, he married Gloria Striegler in Bainbridge. She predeceased him on August 12, 1991 after thirty years of marriage. Ronald was employed by Amphenol Corp. as a bench hand, retiring in 1991 after 14 years. Ronald also did some farming, and took great pride in his animals. He greatly enjoyed woodworking, painting and fishing.

3 Sons and daughters-in-law: Jeff and Laura Smith

Keith and Pamella Smith

Carsten and Sheila Smith (all of Bainbridge)

His brother, Clifford Smith Oxford

7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins

In addition to his wife, Ronald was predeceased by a brother, Stanley Smith, and a sister, Pearl Orals.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place in the spring at Greenlawn Cemetery, Bainbridge. Memorial contributions in Ronald's name may be directed to Hospice & Palliative Care of Chenango County, 21 Hayes St. Norwich, NY 13815.
