Lorraine Peloso Franklin, NY Lorraine Peloso of Franklin passed away Tuesday morning, March 3, 2009 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton after a long and courageous battle against cancer. She was 73. Lorraine was born on January 10, 1936, daughter of the late Vincenzo and Rosemary (Masi) Veneruso in the Bronx. On October 31, 1954 she married Frank Peloso in the Bronx. She graduated from Triple Cities School of Beauty Culture in Binghamton to become a licensed cosmetologist. Lorraine loved hairdressing, and her customers were very dear friends. She was employed by The Cutting Crew in Oneonta. Lorraine was a very active, vibrant woman, and was involved in many endeavors. She was a member of Business and Professional Women (BPW), the Women of the Moose, the Wells Bridge Fire Dept. Auxiliary, and the Sacred Heart Church of Sidney. She was a dairy farmer with her husband, as well as a horse enthusiast. She worked at DR Chambers in Unadilla. She enjoyed music, boating and gardening, and she was an excellent cook. Lorraine also volunteered with the Tri Town Theatre and had the pleasure of doing makeup and hair for them for many years. She was also a longtime volunteer with Relay for Life of Greater Binghamton. Despite all of her other ventures, Lorraine's true love was her family and especially her grandchildren. She truly loved all people and was loved by all who knew her. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She will be deeply missed. Lorraine is survived by: Her loving husband of 54 years, Frank Peloso Franklin 2 sons and daughters-in-law: Marty and Linda Peloso Bainbridge Lawrence and Jacqueline Peloso Unadilla 1 daughter: Laurie Peloso Willet, NY currently residing with her parents in Franklin 7 grandchildren: Joshua Youngs and his wife, Sheri of Sidney; Jessica Youngs of Manchester, CT, and Lawrence, Jr., Roseanna, Amanda, Mark and Beth Peloso of Unadilla 1 great granddaughter, Molly Youngs of Sidney A brother, Vincent (James) Veneruso of New Jersey and a sister, Eleanor Bianchini of Long Island Lorraine also leaves behind beloved "guardian" dog, Sammy, and lap cat Hokey Pokey Lorraine was predeceased by an infant granddaughter, Christy Peloso in 1984. Friends are invited to call on Thursday, March 5, 2009 from 6:00-8:00pm at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main Street Sidney, NY 13838. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 6, 2009 at 11:00 am the Sacred Heart Church, Liberty Street Sidney with Monsignor James Cox officiating. Burial will take place at Evergreen Hill Cemetery, Unadilla. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Lorraine's name may be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org, or to the Relay for Life of Greater Binghamton at www.relayforlife.org/binghamtonNY. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.landersfh.com. The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to the Lourdes Hospital Hospice and Oncology staff for the excellent care and compassion shown to Lorraine. Arrangements under the direction of C.H.
