Lavina G. Bullis Afton, NY Lavina G. Bullis, 78, of Afton, passed away early Wednesday morning, December 13, 2017 at Wilson Regional Medical Center in Johnson City. Lavina was born on September 1, 1939 in Deposit, NY, daughter of the late Leland and Corabelle (Thomas) Evans. On September 2, 1956, Lavina was married to Foster W. Bullis in Deposit. They shared 56 years of marriage before he predeceased her in January of 2013. Lavina was a devoted member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Sidney. She loved gardening and flowers, cooking for the boys and shopping. Her family was the most important thing in her life. She will be missed by: son and daughter-in-law, Foster, Jr. and Karen Bullis of Afton; grandchildren: William Bullis of Afton, Ashley Bullis of Texas, Curt and Diana Bullis of Endicott and Briana Marshall of Rome; 4 great-grandsons; brother, Minard Thomas; brother-in-law, Ritchie and Dorothy Bullis of Harpursville; and two sisters-in-law, Marilyn and Donald Thomas of Windsor and Carolyn and Don Monhey of Bainbridge. In addition to her parents and her husband, Lavina was predeceased by two brothers, Faron Thomas and Bob Evans. Burial will be private in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, Lavina requested that a tree be planted in her memory; donations may be made to The Arbor Day Foundation, 100 Arbor Avenue, Nebraska City, NE 68410.
