Obituary of Eileen L. Atkinson

Eileen Lois Atkinson Eileen L. Atkinson, 92, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at her home. She was born February 9, 1925 in Canajoharie, NY, the daughter of Warren (Andy) Wilson and Angie J. Lockwood Wilson. She married Otto L. Atkinson. He predeceased her January 1, 1985. On November 6, 1988, she married John Latta at St. Luke's Church in Sidney. He predeceased her October 26, 2011. She was a longtime member of the Congregational Church of Sidney. She was an accomplished cook and baker, and an avid reader. Eileen is survived by: her brother, Donald W. Wilson; daughter, Donna M. Zabelski and her friend, Jerry Stafford; nieces and nephews: Gary and wife, Kimberly Wilson; James Wilson; Amy and husband, Dr. Michael Farrell; Craig and wife, Brenda Wilson; Heather and husband, Daniel Coleman; and Eric and wife, Marcia Wilson. She is also survived by John's children: Nancy and husband, James Donnelly; Peter and wife, Doris Latta; John B. and wife, Melissa Latta; Christine and husband, Steven Sproull and their families. Eileen was predeceased by her parents; her husbands, Otto L. Atkinson and John Latta; two brothers, Clifford Wilson and Richard Wilson; two sisters, Barbara E. Wilson and Betty Jean Wilson; two sisters-in-law, Phyllis Wilson and Lois Miller Wilson, and her son-in-law, Raymond Zabelski. Friends are invited to call from 2:00-4:00pm on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney. In accordance with her wishes, funeral services and burial in Prospect Hill Cemetery will be private.
