Robert C. Strier Guilford, NY Robert C. Strier, 88, of Guilford, died peacefully on Friday, January 6th, 2017 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. He was predeceased by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Strier Sr., his aunt Mary and uncle Ed Englebach, his brother, Frederick Strier Jr., and his son, Richie Strier. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Gertrude Strier; their children Robert Jr. (Adis) Strier, Cathy Ray, Robin (Ernie) Jipson, and John (Thelma) Strier; his beloved 11 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Robert started his career as a Superintendent of Construction. He moved from Long Island in the 60’s and purchased his first dairy and beef farm, all while continuing with his construction business. Amongst some of his adventures, he also started his own trucking business, his own race car team, and owned a mechanic shop where he spent some of his time repairing cars. In his free time, Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, caring for his livestock, reading, and bird watching. He was also an avid New York Giants fan. In his later years, Robert treasured his time spent with his caregivers, his daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Ernie Jipson. There will be no calling hours. The family will say goodbye to Robert privately and celebrate his life in memory with family and friends. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family online at www.landersfh.com.
