Burdette C. "Bud" Bargher
Sidney, NY
Burdette C. "Bud" Bargher, 78, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Binghamton General Hospital. Bud was born on October 4, 1938, son of John F. Bargher, Sr. and Marian (Miner) Bargher in Sidney. He graduated from Sidney High School with the Class of 1956 then enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served until his honorable discharge in 1959.
On August 31, 1957, Bud was married to Patricia Ann Beames in Sidney.
Bud worked as a Boiler Operator for NYSEG in Bainbridge for 24 years, retiring in February 1994 and he was a Special Police Officer with the Village of Sidney for 20 years. He was also an honorary member of the MacDonald Hose Company of the Sidney Fire Department and the Sidney United Methodist Church.
Bud is survived by: his wife of 59 years, Patricia Bargher of Sidney; four children: Lori (Bargher) and Mark Crandall of Belford, NJ; Teri (Bargher) and Dale Kissel of Delray Beach, FL; David and Nancy Bargher of Bainbridge and Steven and Bridget Bargher of Sidney; six grandchildren: Scott Crandall and Thomas Crandall, Jessica Bargher, Nicole Bargher, Brandy Bargher, Zachary Bargher; great-grandson, Liam Richmond; two brothers: Paul and Jackie Bargher and Gary Bargher, both of Sidney; six sisters: Barbara and John Delello of Sidney; Marian and Del Hoag of Sidney; Sharon Delello of Bainbridge; Marlene and Thomas McTague and Darlene and Peter Ricci, both of Cohoes, NY and Regina and Douglas Teale of Sidney; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bud was predeceased by his sister, Gloria Koegler and two brothers, John Bargher, Jr. and Robert Bargher, Sr.; grandson, Andrew Crandall and granddaughter, Kaylan Bargher.
Family and friends are invited to call from 11:00am to 1:00pm on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney. Funeral services will follow at 1:00pm in the funeral chapel with Rev. Benjamin Shaw officiating. Burial with military honors will take place at a later date in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Sidney. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Sidney Emergency Squad. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family online at www.landersfh.com.
