Edith F. (Boyd) Phelps
Bainbridge—Edith "Dede" (Boyd) Phelps, 91, passed away on Friday, November 18, 2016 at A.O. Fox Nursing Home in Oneonta. She was born on October 15, 1925, the second of nine children of Laurence Clair and Luella (Crumb) Boyd in McClure, NY.
Dede was married to Charles Ray Phelps, who predeceased her.
She worked at Amphenol Corp. in Sidney until her retirement. Dede was a longtime member of the East Guilford Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting, as well as reading. She loved to visit with people. In her younger years, Dede had her hunting license, mostly to spend time with her husband.
Dede is survived by: four siblings: Phyllis Moss, Donald Boyd, Ernestine "Teenie" Kilpatrick and William (Gail) Boyd, many nieces and nephews, and neighbors and friends, Dave and Kathy Williams.
In addition to her husband, Ray, she was predeceased by four siblings: Louise Shaver, Laura Kishbaugh, Alice Kishbaugh and Theron Boyd.
Friends are invited to call from 10:00-11:00am on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at the East Guilford Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will begin at 11:00am with Rev. Patty Wolff officiating. Burial will follow in East Guilford Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the East Guilford Presbyterian Church or to the Salvation Army.
