Jeremiah Ostrander, Baltimore, MD
Jeremiah Howard Ostrander, formerly of Sidney, passed silently and unexpectedly from our lives on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at the young age of 42.
He was born November 12, 1974, son of Howard Ostrander, Jr. and Debra (Cole) in Sidney.
Jeremiah, Jeremy, Jer, Dad was raised in Sidney and Bainbridge area and graduated from Sidney Central School with the Class of 1992.
He was an Eagle Scout with Troop 99 in Sidney. He enjoyed driving tractors, participating with the Catskill Garden Tractor Pullers. Along with his father, Howard and son, Jacob, they made up the three generation team, Ostrander Pulling.
He was a longtime member of the Sidney Fire Dept. prior to moving to Baltimore, MD.
Jeremiah loved driving truck and was most recently employed as an over the road truck driver for Frito-Lay in Aberdeen, MD.
He was an amazing father, loving son, brother, grandson, uncle and friend.
He is survived by: Son, Jacob Ostrander and his mother, Shawn Ostrander; Special friend, Ryan Espinoza; Mother, Deb (Fred) Smith; Father, Howard (Debbie) Ostrander; Brother, Josh (Pam) Ostrander; Sister, Jess (Justin) Ruff; Grandmother, Nora (Bill) Ostrander; Step-sisters, Karee (John) Gilmore, Deb (Don) Shafer as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by maternal grandfather, Ralph Cole, paternal grandparents, Howard and Ruth Ostrander as well as step paternal grandparents Virginia and William Frewert and Step-sister, Lisa Smith-Bolster.
Friends and family may call Friday, November 18, 2016 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St., Sidney. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM with Pastor Anna Blinn-Cole officiating; burial will follow at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Bainbridge.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the BSA Troop 1 Unadilla or the Unadilla or Sidney Fire Departments.
