Al E. Schroer Mt. Upton, NY Al. E. Schroer 64 of Mt. Upton passed away peacefully Saturday, January 2, 2010 at his home. He was born March 28, 1945, son of the late Aldolph and Agnes (Heidebring) Schroer in Greenville, TX. Al married Eileen Vietheer on June 4, 1966 in Moonachie, NJ. He was an electrician for 27 years at the Amphenol Corp. in Sidney when he retired in 2004. Al was an ordained elder in the Presbytery Church in NJ and was and was a member of the First Congregational Church in Sidney. He was HAM Radio Operator and loved model trains. Al enjoyed tinkering with gadgets, computers and any new technology. He and Eileen liked to travel. They would camp and visit different wineries. For the last 12 years they had vacationed in Cape May, NJ. In the past year Al and Eileen had opened Eileen's Crafts and Things where they made glassworks and glass bead jewelry. Al is survived by: Loving wife - Eileen Schroer, Mt. Upton Son - Al E. Schroer, Jr. East Stroudsburg, PA Son and daughter-in-law - David and Francine Schroer of Canton, NY and their children Erica, Michael, Dana, Tiffany, and David Daughter and Son-in-law - Cheryle and Ed Bishop of Unadilla and their children Alex and Jacob. Sister and brother-in-law - Wendy and Rev. Ken Walkley of Maywood, NJ and niece Alicia Schulwitz. Friends may call Monday, January 4, 2010 from 6-8 PM at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St. Sidney. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the funeral chapel. Rev. Pat Robinson officiating.
