Obituary of Doris Turner

Doris Turner Sidney, NY Doris Turner, 79, of Sidney, entered peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born February 27, 1937 in Irvona, PA. Doris was raised by her Aunt and Uncle, the late Emma (Brink) and Wesley Fulmer. Doris married Paul Turner on April 4, 1970 in Clearfield, PA. She worked in the Clearfield Area School District for fifteen years as secretary for the junior high school principal. Together Paul and Doris worked the family dairy farm, with her faithfully managing the books. She alongside her husband were honorary members of the Dairylea Cooperative Inc. and honorary charter members of the Sidney FFA. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Sidney, serving where she could. She was the church clerk, served as Deaconess and the Hospitality Committee Chairman for many years. Doris also served as the secretary/treasurer for the Women's Ministry Fellowship Group. She was a member and past leader for the Unadilla Tops Chapter #618. She was also co-founder and leader of the Sidney Mended Hearts. Doris enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower gardens, doing ceramics, sewing and cooking. Most of all she loved her family. Doris is survived by her devoted husband, Paul Turner Daughter, Paula and Her husband, Paul Blake Son, Andrew Turner and his wife, Shannon Grandchildren, Joshua, Bethany, Noah and Adam Blake Sisters, Esther Yamerick, Earnestine and Larry Cirrito Brothers, Clifford Fulmer and Jack Alessi Half sister Marie Alessi Half brother, Tom Curtis Step sisters, Flora Jane Curtis, Shirley Flanagan Nieces, nephews and cousins She was predeceased by her parents, Mom and Dad Fulmer, brothers, Leymone and Marvin, sister, Jean, half sisters Janet, Linda, Karen and Dorrie. Friends may call from 4:00-6:00pm on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, June 6th at the First Baptist Church, 28 River St. Sidney. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Sidney.
