Shirley E. Stringer, 80, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 20, 2016 with 16 family members surrounding her bedside. She was born on December 20, 1935 in Sidney, daughter of the late Floyd and Viola Tuckey.
On December 20, 1953, she was married to Harlan W. Stringer in Sidney. They shared 62 years of marriage and happiness. Shirley worked for Reed's Diner and Keith Clark, both in Sidney, until her retirement.
Shirley showered her family with constant love and support. Her heart and home were always open to anyone, whether you needed a cup of coffee, or a home-cooked meal. She enjoyed crocheting, playing at the casino, sitting on the porch, talking on the phone, and babies. But most of all, she loved to be in the presence of her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.
She will be dearly missed by: her beloved husband, Harlan W. Stringer; daughter, Bonnie and Robin Perry; daughter, Cynthia and Jack Doyle; son, Butch and Donna Stringer; grandchildren: Casey Perry (Fiancé, Jason Baker), Andrew Doyle (wife, Tracie), Tina Fairchild (husband, Dean), Melissa Davis (husband, Rob), Meagan Doty (husband, Tony), and Sierra Houck (fiancé, Trevor Beames); great-grandchildren: Amber Bauerle (fiancé, Kody Westcott), Austin Bauerle, Joseph and Tabitha Doyle, Abigail, Alexis and Maverick Davis, Brooke Fairchild, Tony, Jr. and Lacey Doty and step-great-grandchildren, Hayley and Nevan Baker; sister, Jannett Belcher as well as Brothers-in-law, Sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was predeceased by six siblings: Lucelia "Tela" Stringer, William "Bill" Tuckey, Robert "Bob" Tuckey, Florence "Helen" Curtis, Delores Jones and Kenneth Tuckey.
Burial in Prospect Hill Cemetery will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Shirley's memory may be directed to her grandson's church, As I Am Church, 20 S.
