Gwendolyn G. Morgan, 93, a resident of Franklin, passed away at her home, surrounded by family, on March, 4, 2016. She was born on May 7, 1922 in Paterson, NJ, to Percival and Florence Shrigley. She married Caradic Morgan on July 22, 1967. He predeceased her in 2014. She worked as the secretary to the Board of Health in Wyckoff, NJ for many years and finished her career as the Franklin Central School cafeteria cashier at the age of 84 where she was known as "The Lunch Lady", and saw her goal of seeing her grandkids go through the lunch line. Gwen was a member of The Franklin American Legion Auxilliary and an avid bingo and slot machine player. Above all, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt.
She is survived by her children; Ron McCormack of Bigfork, Mt; Linda Freudenmann and husband Bernie of Franklin, NY; Jeff McCormack of Guilford, NY; and stepson William Morgan and wife Sue of Parsippany, NJ. She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren: Tamara, Danielle, Devin, and Brittany Freudenmann and James McCormack. 3 great-grandchildren; Kaylee Spooner and Mia and Damien Freudenmann.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Jay F. McCormack, siblings Rex Shrigley (Ethel), Joyce Thomas(Robert), and Mildred Chasey(Otis); and a step-daughter, Patricia Deon.
Gwen and her family wish to give a very special thanks to Dr. Jennifer Wiley for her care over the years, and to caregivers Pam Steffen, Caitlin Vandermark, Amanda Simonds, and Paula Morell.
