Obituary of Nancy C. Klockowski

Nancy C. Klockowski, 78, of Guilford, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2024, at Valley View Manor Nursing Home in Norwich. Born Nancy Carol Billitch on March 12, 1945, in Syracuse, NY, to parents Harry and Marian (Stevens) Billitch. Her family later moved to Miami, FL, for her father's work with Carrier A/C. She graduated from S.W. Miami High School and pursued her passion for art by enrolling at Dade Community College. On February 19, 1966, Nancy married Michael J. Klockowski at St. Malachi Church in Sherburne, NY. They made their home on beautiful Guilford Lake for 56 years, where she loved water activities and the quiet and peaceful setting. Nancy delighted in the hobbies of antiquing and gardening. She lovingly cultivated stunning flower gardens around her home, with a particular fondness for her beloved Hosta. Nancy was director for the Delaware Valley Humane Society in Sidney for many years. Nancy's deep affection for animals extended to her farmette, "Lacewood," which provided refuge for numerous abandoned animals, particularly horses. Nancy's dedication to animals garnered recognition from the Sidney Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. In 1993, she was honored as their Woman of The Year. A loving, caring person who was willing to help all, Nancy will be profoundly missed. She is survived by her husband, Michael J. Klockowski of Guilford; daughter, Chris (John) Rower of Palm Bay, FL; and son, Michael T. Klockowski (Heidi Foster) of Binghamton, NY. She was predeceased by her parents, Harry and Marian Billitch, and her brother, James Billitch.
