Rita L. Mott, 92, of Masonville, NY, passed away peacefully, Friday, January 5th, 2024. Rita was born December 19th, 1931 at Oneonta Fox Hospital to Norma Leonard Collins (George Collins) and Neil G. Leonard (Bernice Leonard). She graduated from Unadilla Central School in 1949. In 1954, she married her husband of 68 years, Clifford J. Mott, at the Unadilla Baptist Church. Rita raised five children while also being employed throughout the years by NBT Bank, Declue Law Offices and Butts Concrete where she finally retired at the age of 78. She spent many hours volunteering as the Secretary/Treasurer of the Masonville Cemetary Association. Rita enjoyed supporting her grandchildren’s various sports. She was especially dedicated to spending her weekends at the racetrack watching her grandson, Shaun Walker race and made many new friends at the track over the years. Rita is survived by: her three daughters: Sherry (Kurt) Vandermark, Karen (George) Walker, Michele (Alan) Rowe; son Henry (Kristine) Mott; daughter-in-law, Wendy Mott; 12 beloved grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; sister, Alica Pagano; half-brother, Stanley Leonard; stepbrothers Mobey and Robert Collins; and special friends, Kathy and Chico Lent. Rita was predeceased by her husband, Clifford J. Mott, her son, David L. Mott, grandson, Ryan S. Mott and stepbrothers Fred and Walter Collins. She will be so missed by all who loved her. A private graveside service will be held at the family's convenience. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Masonville Cemetery Association.
