Obituary of Melvina M. Taft

Melvina "Shorty" Taft 90 of Bainbridge passed away Monday, November 27. 2023 at Chenango Memorial Hospital in Norwich. She was born May 30, 1933, daughter of the late Harold and Carrie (Ruling) Crawford in Sidney. She married Frederick Epply, Sr. on June 11,1952 in Uniondale, PA. He predeceased her on May 2, 1995 after 42 years of marriage. Shorty was also predeceased by 2 other husbands, Lynn Teelon and Darwin Taft. She is survived by her children, Debra Harrington, Greene Frederick and Paula Epply, Jr. Greene Grandsons – Donnie L. Harrington and Matthew Epply Great Granddaughters – Taya (Tyler) Dickman, Mercedes Harrington (Ryan Bronson) Brother, George Crawford, Wells Bridge As well as nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is also predeceased by her siblings, Daughter-in-law, Julie Epply and favorite Son-in-Law, David Harrington. Shorty was a devoted member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Bainbridge. Friends may call Sunday, December 3, 2023, from 5-7pm at CH Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St. Sidney. Private graveside services will be in Union Valley Cemetery.
