Obituary of Dennis A. Rakin Jr.

Dennis A. Rakin, Jr of Unadilla, NY, passed away on October 15th after a valiant battle with cancer. Dennis was born on February 23, 1946 to Helen and Dennis Rakin in New York, NY. After graduating from Uniondale High School in 1964, he went on to study Aerospace Engineering from Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn in 1967 and later a Masters of Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1971. After graduation, Dennis landed his first job for Sikorsky followed by Northrup Grumman as an Aerospace Engineer, retiring after 45 years. In 1965 he met Joanne and they wed in 1967, going on to have two children, Tracy and Dennis. After retiring in 2014, Dennis and his wife moved to Unadilla, NY where he spent his time walking and spoiling his dog Bailey, drinking/brewing beer, driving his Jeep and BBQing. Dennis was also an amazing woodworker building tables, cabinets, or anything else needed. Dennis is survived by his wife, Joanne; his two children, Tracy and Dennis (Jill).
