Barry was born May 23, 1953 in Sidney, New York. His early years were spent in both Bainbridge and Sidney. He graduated from Bainbridge High School in 1971 where he was a wrestler and a football player. In 1982, he graduated with honors from Rochester Institute of Technology, while working and raising a family. He had a varied career, traveled extensively, working in management and finance. At the time of his death, he was an operating partner at Whitecap Enterprises. He had a lifelong love of music; playing in a band in his younger years, and amassed all types of specialty guitars throughout his life. He also enjoyed collecting antiques, and had quite an extensive array of unique collectibles. Barry, having worked as a regional controller for Waste Connections, also had a large collection of vintage garbage trucks. When asked what he did for a living, he always said, "I'm a garbage man". He is survived by his mother Vivian Peck, his three sons Josh, Travis, Matt, and their mother, Connie Peck. He is also survived by his partner of 24 years, Pam Levin; her son, Michael, and three grandchildren: Camryn, Jackson, and Caroline.
