Obituary of Barbara DuMond

Barbara Ann Very DuMond Amsterdam, NY Barbara "Barb" A. Very DuMond, 89, passed away peacefully Friday, May 12, 2023, at Wilkerson Health Care Facility, Amsterdam, NY. Barbara was born on May 4, 1934, in the Town of Fairdale, PA. She was the daughter of the late Allen and Estella Very. Barbara attended and graduated from Montrose Central School. On April 5, 1958, Barbara married Everett DuMond in Montrose, PA. Barbara and Everett met while both working at A & B Trucking Company in Binghamton NY. They lived in Sidney, NY area for several years moving to Syracuse, NY, then Schenectady, NY where Everett retired from truck driving. They then managed apartment complexes. Later moving to Grovetown, GA. Barb is survived by children, Sandra DuMond; Timothy (Kathy Becker) DuMond; Judd (Leslie) DuMond; Alfred (Jane) DuMond; Ronald (Claudette) DuMond; and Ira (Robin Amell) DuMond; her grandchildren, Brenda, Dusty, Danielle, Jeff, Clayton, Candice and John as well as her cousins, nieces and nephews and great grandchildren. Barbara was predeceased by her husband Everett of 54 years, a son Jeff C DuMond; granddaughter Jenny and her parents, Allen and Estella Very. Barbara was an only child growing up with several cousins. Being an only child, Barb did very well adapting to and helping to raise a ready-made family of 4 children from Jing's previous spouses, as well as giving birth to 3 boys. Barb valued and showed pride in her family, and she was very caring and forgiving. Barb enjoyed sharing time with grandchildren, a few laughs and good meals with family and friends. A memorial service will be held on June 30, 2023, 11:00 AM at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St., Sidney, NY. Burial will be in Evergreen Hill Cemetery, Unadilla.
