Janet A. Cook Bainbridge, NY Janet A. Cook, born on November 19, 1939 in Harpursville, NY, died peacefully at home on January 5, 2018 with family by her side. She was predeceased by her husband, George Roger Sibley. They resided in Masonville, NY. Janet then moved to Bainbridge, and after a time, married Charles Cook who predeceased her. She was alos predeceased by her brother, Clifford, Jr. (Sonny) Soules. Janet is survived by: her daughters, Trisha (William) Shrader and Lureene (Jerry) Hill. Janet had four grandchildren: Roger Hill, Patrisha (Chris) Prentice, Elizabeth Hill and George Hill, as well as five great-grandchildren: Little Chris, Jaden, Jeremiah, Catherine and Kalob, who she loved wholeheartedly. Through her many years of farming on the Iron Weed Farm in Masonville, she gave love and smiles to her family, friends and all who knew her. Janet had a profound love of music. She could play any musical instrument, and had the voice of an angel. In the early 1960's, her mother, Genevieve Soules and herself produced a record together known as the Western Rhythm Queens. She also performed for years with the Mellowtones. Janet, her mother, and her daughter Lureene were inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in Cortland in the early 1960's. Further arrangements will be made in the spring for services. Donations may be made in Janet's memory to a diabetes organization or to cancer research.
