Stuart R. Rudnitsky Unadilla, NY Stuart Rae Rudnitsky, 85, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 15, 2016 in the comfort of his home with family by his side. Stuart was born on September 1, 1931 in Sidney, son of the late Adam and Hilma (Gillar) Rudnitsky. Stuart graduated from Unadilla Academy in 1950. Following school, he enlisted in the US Navy, serving his country during the Korean War. He served as a Machinist Mate Second Class on the USS Maurice and was honorably discharged in August 1955. On December 8, 1954, he married Alvina Mary Winchester. Stuart worked as a self-employed contractor until his retirement. He is survived by: his wife of 62 years, Alvina Rudnitsky; six children: Dave Rudnitsky, Tim Rudnitsky, Linda Lutz, Karen Roefs, Stuart Rudnitsky and Andrew Rudnitsky; grandchildren: Matt Rudnitsky, Bobby Stevens, Sara Rudnitsky, Anthony Roefs, Tiffany Murrell, Brittany Rudnitsky, Katie Gardepe, Jenna Rudnitsky, Marybeth Rudnitsky, Stuart Rudnitsky, III, Christin Rudnitsky and Courtney Rudnitsky; and sister, Gail Dalbora. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by four siblings: Eddy Rudnitsky, Bud Rudnitsky, Anita Zito and Iris Curina, and a granddaughter, Jamie Rudnitsky. Friends are invited to call from 5:00-8:00pm on Friday, December 23, 2016 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney, NY 13838. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Unadilla Center United Methodist Church. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family online at www.landersfh.com.
