Louise Shackelton Forsythe Harrison, 90, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 22, 2026.

Louise was born in 1936 in the town of Tompkins, daughter of the late Hilton and Dorothea (Cummings) Shackelton.

She graduated from Norwich High School in 1958 and Delhi Tech in 1968 with a degree in nursing. She spent her career at The Hospital in Sidney and Chenango Memorial in Norwich, retiring after 35 years. She was a long-time member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Sidney.

Louise is survived by her son, Robert Forsythe and family of Oxford, and brother, Ralph Shackelton of Lakeland, FL, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husbands, Donald Forsythe and Edwin Harrison; companion, Olon Archer; three sons, Jack, Randy and Mark Forsythe; sister, Deacon Faye VanDermark; and brothers, Roger Shackelton and Bruce (Cindy) Shackelton.

Friends may call from 1:00-2:00pm on Friday, August 28, 2026 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney, NY 13838. A memorial service will follow at 2:00pm, with her brother-in-law, Rev. Roy VanDermark officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her memory may be directed to St. Paul's Food Pantry, Sidney, Louise's favorite charity.
