Curtis R. Cawley (Curt) 69, of Bainbridge, NY, passed away August 6th, 2026, in his childhood home surrounded by his loving family.

Curt was born at the Norwich hospital to Raymond and Beverly Cawley on June 12th, 1957. He was the first in his family to graduate high school. He was a jack of all trades and he excelled at any job put in front of him. He was employed at Paynes Construction for many years before a car accident and associated injuries kept him from continuing in that work. He enjoyed fishing very much and loved watching auto racing, especially with his brother Harold over the last few years. He loved his family more than anything.

Curt is survived by his daughter Kimberley and her husband John Sherman of Bainbridge, a son Brandon Mott of Rochester, grandchildren Kaitlyn and her husband Michael Hoad, and Ellie Brown, bonus-grandchildren Sam and Sejasity Sherman of Bainbridge, and 2 great-granddaughters Kendall and Charlie Hoad. He also leaves behind a brother and sister-in-law Harold and Lindy Cawley, many nieces and nephews, especially James and Ray Cawley who he loved spending time with, and his 2 fur babies, Taz and Sadie.

He is preceded in death by both his parents Raymond Sr. and Beverly Cawley, brothers Ray and Richard, sister Sandra, and by the late love in life and fiance, Bea.

Memorial donations may be made to the Delaware County Humane Society in Sidney, NY.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Chenango County Hospice, Landers Funeral Home, and to special family friend, Christine Dunlap.

There will be a Celebration of Life held in Curt's honor, at the Bainbridge Community Center, 5 Prospect St, Bainbridge, on September 13th, 2026, from 1:00 - 4:00pm
