In Loving Memory of John H. Morley Jr.

John H. Morley Jr., 92 of Sidney Center passed away peacefully on August 7, 2026, with his loving wife, Janice, by his side. After a long and difficult journey with dementia, he is finally at peace.

John was a beloved husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, and friend. He will be remembered not for the disease that took away so much of his memory, but for the love, kindness, laughter, and memories he gave to the people around him throughout his life.

John served his country while in the Air Force from 1954-1958. He was a man who touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by his family and friends. The memories he created and the love he shared will remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

John worked as a switchman for Frontier for 34 years before he retired.

He is survived by his loving wife Janice, his children Michael Morley married to Debbie, Cindy Utter, his stepdaughters Shelley Roxby married to Randy, Stefanie Ives and her significant other Russ Curtier, his brother Richard Morley, David Blackman and his significant other Sandy, Donnie and Leticia Blackman, Barbara Butler and her significant other Sawdy, Jean Brennan and her cat Sugar, Danny and Crystal Blackman, Barb Reynolds, his Nine Grandchildren & 5 Great Grand Children and other friends & family members. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother in-law Jim Blackman.

The family would like to thank everyone who cared for and supported John during his final days, especially Helios. Their compassion and kindness meant so much during this difficult time.

While our hearts are broken by his passing, we are grateful that he is no longer suffering. May he rest peacefully, and may his memory live on through all those who loved him.

Rest in peace, John. You will be loved and remembered always.

Friends are invited to call from 5:00-7:00pm on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney, NY 13838. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, August 12th at the funeral chapel. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, Sidney Center.
