Grace Macumber peacefully entered into eternal rest and was reunited with her beloved husband Bruce Macumber and her Lord and Savior on August 5, 2026.

Grace was born February 12, 1956 in Norwich, NY to Gerald and Lois Nelson of Smyrna, NY.

She was predeceased by her husband, Bruce Macumber, her parents, and her siblings: Rachel, Phil, David, Allen and Gene.

Grace is lovingly survived by her siblings: Doris, Geraldine, Nola, Karen and Mike; her children, Chipper and Kipper Graham; stepchildren: Amy, Tim and Richard; her cherished grandchildren: Shane, Natasha, Cassidy, Zachary, Wyatt, Poca, Alexa and Bruce; great-grandkids: Owen, Liam, Cullen and Rory. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews and extended family members and friends that will miss her dearly.

Grace dedicated her life to caring for others. She proudly served as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the New York State Veterans Home in Oxford for 29 years where she compassionately cared for Veterans with kindness, dignity and unwavering dedication.

She was a quiet, gentle, beautiful soul who was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Grace's faith, strength and compassionate heart touched the lives of everyone she knew. She faced life's challenges with courage and determination, never giving up and always trusting God's plan.

Grace will be remembered for her infectious smile, incredible strength, her selfless love for her family, and of course her famous apple pie, which brought joy to countless family gatherings.

Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of love, kindness and faith will live on in all the hearts who knew her and loved her.

Her family would like to extend special thanks to Chenango County Hospice for making Grace's last days as comfortable and pain free as possible. They are all kind, caring souls that go above and beyond.

Friends are invited to call from 5:00-7:00pm on Monday, August 10, 2026 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St., Sidney, NY 13838. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, August 11th at the funeral chapel. Burial will follow in Butternut Valley Cemetery, Gilbertsville.
