John L. Warner Obituary
John L. Warner, 83, of Guilford, NY, passed away on April 9, 2026.
Born on June 21, 1942, in Deposit, NY, John was the son of Hereld S. Warner and Doris Warner. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved wife of 65 years, Jo Ann; his brothers, Larry and Lynn; his sisters, Jean, Carol, and Marilyn; and his daughter, Pamela Jo Rhoades.
He is survived by his loving family, including his sister Judy (Chuck) Miller; his son Craig D. (Tami) Warner; his daughter Jennifer L. (Alan) Scofield; his son-in-law CJ Rhoades; as well as many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great?grandchildren who brought him tremendous pride and joy.
John dedicated 30 years of service to United Parcel Service, where he was known for his hard work, reliability, and the many lasting friendships he formed with coworkers and customers alike.
In retirement, John and Jo Ann cherished their winters in Florida, where they made lifelong friends, attended music festivals, and devoted time to Habitat for Humanity and other charitable organizations. John had a true gift for gardening and landscaping; his green thumb and beautiful flower gardens were admired by all who knew him. He and Jo Ann shared many anniversaries traveling throughout New England, enjoying antiquing, sightseeing, and the simple joy of being together. John especially loved Jo Ann's baking and was well known for his sweet tooth—a trait his family will always remember fondly. His love of music ran deep, and he took great joy in listening to his nieces and nephews sing and perform. Dancing with Jo Ann was his favorite pastime.
John was also an active member of the Guilford Historical Society for many years, where he and Jo Ann contributed to numerous projects and community efforts.
He will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his steady and reassuring presence, and his love for life. John was an extraordinary husband, father, and grandfather, and he will be deeply missed. It brings the family great comfort knowing that Mom, Dad, and Pam are together again, dancing in heaven.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John's honor to The Guilford Historical Society, PO Box 201, Guilford, NY 13780.
A memorial service will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Windsor, NY, on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 1:00 p.m.
