Esther S. Walker Obituary

Esther Searle Walker reunited in Heaven with the loved ones who went before her on February 23, 2026. She was born on June 5, 1935, in Clifton Springs, New York, to Leslie and Winifred Searle. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband William, and her daughter Gale.

It is hard to comprehend experiencing the grief of losing our mom while also celebrating her beautiful life. She was a nurturing, compassionate caregiver whose kindness touched everyone she met.

She was the oldest living member of the First Baptist Church of Sidney, a place that shaped her faith and community. Over the years, she served as a volunteer at Sidney Hospital, a school lunch lady, a Boy Scout Den Mother, a Sunday school teacher, and mentor to many. She was very active, loved to walk, bake her children's favorite cookies, doing crafts with her grandchildren and camping with family and friends. Esther worked at Keith Clark, Amphenol and the Penny Saver after retirement, always giving her best.

A loving, devoted wife, compassionate friend, an inspirational love of God and most importantly, to William her husband of 71 years, her children Gale, Keith and his late wife Pam Walker, Kim (Walker) Crowe and husband Larry Crowe, and Thomas and wife Renee Walker, she was a wonderful wife and mother—loving, and full of grace.

Esther cherished her family deeply, especially her 8 grandchildren, 2 foster grandchildren, 12 greatgrandchildren, and 1 greatgreatgranddaughter. Her greatest sources of strength and joy were her family and her unwavering faith in God.

We take comfort in knowing that her devotion has been rewarded with eternal life.

Services for Esther and William Walker will be held on June 25, 2026 -their wedding anniversary, allowing their lives to be celebrated together—just as they shared 71 years of marriage.
