Joy Ann Neer Obituary

Joy Ann Neer, formerly of Bainbridge, NY, was reunited in Heaven with her beloved daughter Rita on the 13th of February, 2026.

Born on the 26th of October, 1940 to the late Clifford and Dorothy (Meyer) Neer in Long Eddy, NY, Joy was a treasured daughter, mother, and aunt that is best known for her devotion to God, her church, and her family.

Joy worked at Borden, Inc. in Bainbridge and was a member of the Bainbridge St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church for many years. Joy had been a resident of the A.O. Fox Nursing Home for several years before her passing.

It was common for Joy to reach out and visit with family throughout the years as she felt very strongly about staying connected to her loved ones. Joy's strongest connection was with her daughter, Rita. Joy and Rita shared a profound, unbreakable bond.

Joy is preceded in death by her daughter, Rita Protheroe; her parents, and her five siblings; Janet, Donald, C. James, Robert, and Richard Neer.

She is survived by several nieces, nephews, and their families.

A private interment will be held in the spring.
