Jeanne Tiffany Wighman passed away on February 20, 2026. She was born on August 26, 1930, in Norwich, NY to parents William R. Tiffany & Beulah Winifred (Brown) Tiffany.
She babysat in her early years, then in high school she worked part-time at Fishman's. Jeanne graduated from Norwich High School in 1948. After high school she worked at the Norwich Pharmaceutical Company and Bennett Ireland as a mailing clerk and receptionist. She later sold real estate for Century 21 in Oneonta, and DeMulder Realty in Sidney. Following retirement, she went back to work part time as a bakery clerk for Grand Union, Tops, and Price Chopper in Sidney, finally retiring at age 80.
She was married to Charles A. Wightman on November 20, 1949 sharing 70 happy years and raising two children, Carolyn and Charles.
Jeanne is survived by four grandchildren: Rachel Scroggs of McDonough, Georgia; Sarah Terrell of The Colony, Texas; Esther (Matthew) Reynolds of Irondequoit, New York, and Charles W. Wightman, Jr. of Norwich, New York; 7 great-grandchildren: Julia (Daniel) Eggland and Thomas Scroggs, Hannah and Logan Terrell, and Addison, Grace, and Harper Wightman; son-in-law, James Blenis, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Jeanne was preceded by her beloved husband, Charles, and their two children, daughter, Carolyn Blenis, and son, Charles W. Wightman: brother, Nelson and Pat Tiffany; brother-in-law, Robert and Joyce Wightman; and sister-in-law Elizabeth and Alvin Whaley.
Over the years, Jeanne was helped by many good friends, including John Raymond, Rose Hillman, Mark and Joleen Doliver, Todd and Kerry Holley, and Max and Teresa Blenis, all of whom she loved and appreciated very much.
At Jeanne's request, graveyard services in Mt. Hope Cemetery will take place at a later date at the convenience of the family.
