John Wayne Ferrara, age 82, of Sidney, NY, peacefully passed away on Thursday, February 26th at his home in Bainbridge, NY. He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren.

John was born May 13th, 1943, in Hancock New York. He is the son of Carl Sr. and Doris Ferrara.

He married Patricia Anne Ferrara on August 21st, 1966, and created their family home in Sidney, NY, where they loved and raised 3 children.

John was predeceased by: his wife Patricia Anne Ferrara; brothers Carl Ferrara, Jr. and Roscoe Ferrara; his mother, Doris Ferrara; father, Carl Ferrara Sr., and sister-in-law Joyce Ferrara. He is survived by his brother, Jerry Ferrara; children: Michael Ferrara and Sandy Finch, Tony Ferrara and Alicia Cevasco and Robin and Jason Bessett; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bob and Deb Cerqouz, and his grandchildren Megan and Cody Ferrara, Brandon and Sarah Bessett, great-grandson Kayson Ferrara and his feathered son “Cracker-bird”.

John served the United States Navy from January of 1964 to January 1970 on the U.S.S. Austin and dedicated 6 years of his life to serve his country.

Friends are invited to calling hours from 3pm to 6pm on Thursday, March 5th at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main Street Sidney. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Sidney.
