Teddy W. Tripp Obituary

Teddy (Ted) W. Tripp, 80, of Masonville, New York, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Wilson Hospital in Johnson City.

Ted was born on August 13, 1945, in Deposit, New York, the son of William and Mary (Andresen) Tripp. He grew up in Deposit and graduated from Deposit Central School in 1964.

Ted had a deep love for the outdoors and found great joy in hunting, fishing, and tending his garden. He was a member and past president of the Masonville Rod and Gun Club and was also an active member of the Masonville Volunteer Fire Department and Emergency Squad for many years, proudly serving his community.

Ted retired from NYSEG's Jennison Station in Bainbridge when the plant closed in 2000. He later worked part-time for Butt's Concrete in Masonville from 2001 to 2004. During the holiday season, Ted became a familiar and cherished sight on Oneonta's Main Street, serving as Santa Claus for many years. He truly loved spreading joy and bringing smiles to countless children.

Ted is survived by his two children, Tracy Ramage and Kevin Tripp, with his former wife, Bonnie (Gray) Tripp; his granddaughter, Brooke (Ramage) Farrell, and her husband, Justin; his great-grandson, Ellis Farrell; his brother, Mark Tripp; his sister, Susan (Tripp) Hardy; and several nieces and a nephew. He is also survived by many dear friends, including Linda Cole, Rich Chamberlain, and Larue Brower.

He was predeceased by his parents, William and Mary Tripp, and his sister, Kathleen Tripp.

Ted will be deeply missed for his quick wit, infectious sense of humor, and the kind, generous heart he shared so freely with everyone who knew him.

A celebration of Ted's life will be held at a later date.

Donations may be made in Ted’s memory to the Masonville Fire Department.
