Heather Cottell, of Oneonta, NY, went home to be with the Lord on November 17, 2025 during a stay at Bassett Hospital, Cooperstown. She was born in Kingston, Ontario Canada on June 11, 1957. Heather was predeceased by her husband Mark Cottell in 2008. Heather is remembered with love and will be greatly missed by her son, Adam Cottell, special friends Kurt and Patti Funke, and many friends and staff at Robynwood Assisted Living, including Tammy, Art, Shirley, and Susan. Also special thanks to the dialysis staff at Oneonta Specialty Services who took such good care of her over the past five years.

In Heather's formative years in Ontario, she enjoyed many adventures with her Mum and Dad, including camping trips, fishing, gardening, and snowmobiling. Pets and the funny stories that went with them were always a part of the stories she loved to share. She was blessed to be able to share childhood good times with many friends in the neighborhood; especially times spent swimming with her dear friend Lori, and Lori's four sisters in the pool her dad and mum provided.

During her life Heather grew up and was educated in Ontario, Canada. She graduated from Queens University, Kingston Ontario, with a Bachelors degree in special education. She taught for many years before becoming a certified special services administrator; a position of which she enjoyed greatly and eventually retired from in 2013.

Heather enjoyed many trips with husband, Mark, and beloved son, Adam, to Disney World in Florida. She loved to see the joy and kindness on the faces of the all the people who worked there. Her most precious joy however was what she saw in Adam's face as they experienced together the many rides, sights and sounds of that amazing place.

Heather's wry sense of humor; her strong political musings; her love for family and friends, and her wonderful collection of stuffed animals and Legos were a source of comfort and joy. She will be remembered for her laughter upon hearing a funny true story, and her generosity, and sympathetic ear for her friends in need. Heather will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
