Norman Aprile of Nineveh, NY born on April 9, 1946, passed into the loving arms of Jesus with loved ones by his side. Norman is survived by his wife of 58 years, Anita, who loved him with all her heart; his two daughters Bonnie Williams (and husband Kirt), and Holly Aprile. He is also survived by his brother Stephen and wife Maureen, his sister Nina Aprile, a niece, nephew, and cousins. Norman was preceded in death by his parents Norman W. Aprile Sr. and Leonora Aprile.

Norman had many passions. Besides his family, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and softball. He loved his many deer hunting trips to Saskatchewan and fishing with his boyhood friend, Albert. His vegetable and flower gardens were a marvel, and his feeders drew many beautiful birds.

Softball played a huge role in his life. As a young man he played on numerous fastpitch teams. His daughters spent many hours on softball fields learning and developing their skills. Norman coached them and other young women over the years. He loved pitching most of all and shared that love by teaching many aspiring pitchers the basics. His mantra: practice, practice, practice.

He earned a degree from Binghamton University as an adult and worked in Human Resources at IVCI in Afton.

Above all, Norman was a good, kind, strong, and courageous man who loved his family dearly.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 29 from 1-3 pm at C.H. Landers Funeral Home, 21 Main St. Sidney, NY with a short service to follow at 3 pm.
