Elizabeth Mary Dicks, 95, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2026 in Bainbridge, New York, the town where she was born and spent her life.
She was born on December 12, 1930 in Bainbridge to Francis Joseph and Mary (Raab) Hohreiter. Elizabeht graduated from Bainbridge High School in 1949.
Her deep roots in the community were reflected not only in her lifelong residence, but also in her dedicated work across several local institutions. Over the years she contributed her time to and talents to the Bainbridge School Cafeteria, Bainbridge Pharmacy, American Plastics, Amphenol and Price Chopper. Through these roles, she became a familiar presence to many in the area.
Elizabeth found joy in gardening, bowling, golfing, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her children and their families: Debra (James) Cummings, Timothy (Kathy) Dicks, Daniel (Janet) Dicks, Theodore (Donna) Dicks; 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 2 great great-grandchildren. She is also remembered by her sister Kathy (Dave) Foster and sister-in-law, Gay Hohreiter.
Elizabeth was predeceased by her infant son, James and her brothers, Robert and John.
There will be no calling hours per Elizabeth's wishes. She will be interred in Greenlawn Cemetery in Bainbridge in the spring.
