Mt. Upton – Michael J. Stoutenberg passed away January 16th,2026 at Upstate University Hospital. He was born June 20th, 1948, in Walton, the son of Floyd and Edythe Stoutenberg.

He married Donna Denison on April 1st, 1989.

Michael graduated from Walton High School in 1966 and proudly served in the United States Navy from 1969-1973.

Michael worked as a supervisor at Amphenol Corp. for 31 years before retiring in Sept, 2008.

Michael was a member of the American Legion, serving as a commander for 2 years.

He was an avid Yankee and Giants fan and loved to play golf.

Michael's greatest joy in life was living through his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Donna; two daughters, Tori Anderson (John) of Vestal, Wendy Conway (Randy) of Mt. Upton; a son, Anthony McNeilly (Monica) of Canastota NY; grandchildren, Nicole Conway, Danielle Conway, Randi Schowe, Emily Taylor, Bobby Anderson, Brandi Voorhis and Sean McNeilly. Nine great grandchildren; his brother Kurt Stoutenberg of Scriba; his sister Jessica (Bryon) Getman of Chittenango; his Aunt Ruth Stoutenberg of Chittenango; his step- brother Alan (Mary) MacGibbon of Florida; his mother-in-law Evelyn Denison of Mt. Upton; sister-in-laws Nancy (Neil) Rivaldo of Rochester, Linda (Jim) Pinney of Sidney and brother-in-law Jerry Ferrara of Sidney. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Michael was predeceased by his mother Edythe; his father Floyd; stepmother Barb; sister-in laws Cathy Stoutenberg and Joyce Ferrara; stepsister Deb MacGibbon and father-in-law Frank Denison.

Calling hours will be Tuesday January 20th from 2:00-4:00PM and 7:00-9:00PM at C.H Landers 21 Main St. in Sidney.

A Mass will be held on Wednesday January 21st at 10:30AM at Sacred Heart Church 15 Liberty St. in Sidney.

In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Walton American Legion, Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Sidney or charity of one's choice.
