David Morenus, 78, passed away on January 7, 2026 at Albany Medical Center after a long illness.

Dave was born on December 27, 1947 in Sidney, son of the late Ralph and Anna Morenus. He graduated from Sidney Central School with the Class of 1967.

Dave was a farmer all his life alongside his brother Mike, and his cattle were his pride. His favorite hobby was pulling his 8000 Ford. He was a member of the Sidney Center Fire Dept. and served as treasurer for the Sidney Center Rod & Gun Club.

Dave is survived by his wife, Patty; son, Joey; siblings: Mike, Rose, Tom and Jim; as well as his beloved dog, Toby, and cat, Spooker.

In addition to his parents, Dave was predeceased by his son, Andy.

Special thanks to Joe Scofield who spent many hours and days helping Dave until he no longer could. The family also wishes to thank the Sidney Emergency Squad.

There will be no services at this time. Dave’s wishes were to be cremated and returned to his cherished farm on Crane Hill, Sidney Center.
