Beverly B. Pierce, 93, of Sidney passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on January 6, 2026.
Bev was born in Oneonta, NY, on November 22, 1932, to John (Jack) Orlo Boyce and Nella Virginia Bartow Boyce. She was a proud member of the Sidney Central School Class of 1950. Bev was the glue that kept the class together for many, many years. She met Donald Pierce at the Sidney Roller Skating Rink, and they were married on June 14, 1958. They always celebrated their anniversary at the Unadilla Flag Day parade, which they loved to attend every year.
In addition to raising her children, she worked at Delaware Federal Bank in Sidney until she decided to stay home and babysit several kids. After that, she worked for the Sidney Federal Credit Union and later retired from Amphenol Aerospace (Bendix). In her retirement, Bev worked for H&R Block in Sidney as a receptionist during tax season.
Bev was an avid fan of anything her children and grandchildren participated in. She never missed a game, a band or chorus concert or dance recital. Even as they got older, she could be found at events supporting them as they coached and taught other children their love of sports and dance.
Bev was also an active member of the Unadilla Center United Methodist Church where she was able to share her love of music with the congregation as their organist.
The love of Bev's life was her family. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Donald and her children Shirley of Sidney and Donnie (Barb) of Unadilla. The lights of her life were her grandchildren: Larissa (Ned) Brower of Oneonta, Mariah (Jordan) Somers of Unadilla, Carolee Pierce of Unadilla and Lindsay Pierce of Bainbridge. Bev was delighted when she became a great grandmother to Vada Grace Brower and Hadley and Ryan Somers. They brought smiles to her face right up to the end. Bev is also survived by her brother John Boyce of Afton, and several nieces and nephews who she adored. She will be greatly missed by her constant companion, Levi, who did not leave her side.
Bev was predeceased by her parents, her infant daughter Carolee, her sister and brother-in-law Shirley and Robert Goerlich and her nephew Bobby John Goerlich.
The family would like to thank Helios Care for their kindness and support during Bev's final days.
Memorial donations may be made to the Unadilla Center United Methodist Church, 1203 Butternut Road, Unadilla, NY 13849
