Obituary of Diane S. Horoszewski

Please share a memory of Diane to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sadness to share the passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Diane (DeMott) Horoszewski. Born in Bainbridge in 1944, Diane grew up in Trout Creek, NY. The youngest daughter of Bill and Jennie (Ahrens) DeMott, Diane was a graduate of Sidney High School class of 1963. Following graduation, Diane soon met her lifelong love, Anthony J. Horoszewski of Bainbridge and were wed in 1965. One of Diane's greatest joys was raising their four children; Steven A. (Deborah J. ) Horoszewski of Port Crane, NY; Deborah A. (Mark) Howe of Oxford, NY, Michael W. (Patty) Horoszewski of Oxford, NY and Patricia J. Blinebry of Waterville, NY. Diane worked at the Borden Cosmetic Factory while raising her children. After many years of service, she later retired from The Hospital, Sidney as a Switchboard Operator and Biller. She often spoke about the many friends she had made while working there, and the fond memories of her career there. A love for gardening, Diane often spent her time working in her flower beds and garden. She adored all varieties of flowers and loved the scent of every one, smiling at their beauty and loving those who brought them to her. Diane also enjoyed classic country music especially that of Merle Haggard, George Jones, John Prine and so many others. An avid reader, Diane enjoyed many authors, especially the writings of Michael Savage and other current event authors. Diane is survived by her husband of 60 years, Anthony J. Horoszewski, her children and grandchildren; Jake (Lauren) Horoszewski, Ron Horoszewski, Alec Blinebry and Addison Howe. Also surviving are her nieces and nephew; Nancy Stevens, Donna (Steve) Cutting, Douglas (Sharon) Stevens and Sharron Stevens. She is predeceased by her parents, her mother and father-in-law Anna (Foldy) and Anthony F. Horoszewski; Brothers Donald DeMott, James DeMott, Gerold DeMott, Charles DeMott, beloved sister Pauline Stevens and nephew Joseph Stevens. Diane is also predeceased by her dearly loved son-in-law Michael Blinebry. A private memorial service will be held at the discretion of the family and as Diane had wished there will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution in Diane's name to The Mercy House of the Southern Tier, 212 N. McKinley Avenue, Endicott, NY 13760. www.MercyHouseSouthernTier.com
