8 Trees or Condolences have been sent in support of Jason’s family — View on Tribute Wall
Jason M. Strong Sr., our beloved father, son, brother, and uncle left our presence on Monday, October 27, 2025. The official cause of death was COPD.
We are grateful for the memories of the lasting, positive ways he deeply impacted our lives. We would like to highlight some of those fond memories. Jason was the family sheriff, and his entrance into the room would signal there was order needing to be restored. At times though, he was the reason there was no order.
He was a quiet thinker with a quick wit which would often catch us off guard. This would only make it funnier at the times when he would nod, smile, and laugh along, seemingly paying attention, only for him to tell us that he had no idea what was going on. He was super competitive. Jason didn't like to lose, but he was fun about it. That is, unless it came to the NY Giants. We were surprised the Giants and the referees couldn't hear him. He enjoyed playing family games - often softening his competitive side by adapting the rules to make it easier for all the kids to play. (So much so, that the now adult kids have had to check the actual rules. And, like him, the situation determines if they play by his rules or the written rules.). The kids loved it when he would gather them to play all sorts of games — outside sports, which would regularly lead to Jason diving here or there; Uno, especially Jump In Uno, which would lead to someone other than him holding a handful of cards; Boggle, which he would often win; basketball "Knockout", which the kids knew there would be no softer rules when playing that game; playing cornhole - even by himself; and others.
He loved his kids immensely and would proudly show pictures of his grandchildren or share something about them. He was a protector of his family. There was a different side to him if there was wrong done against his family or done in front of kids. He was a Mama's Boy. He'd pick on one of his sons and a nephew for being Mamas' boys, laugh at himself, and tell them that he was a Mama's Boy, too! Jason enjoyed woodworking, the outdoors, and riding ATVs.
His picking, silly side would have the kids believing such things as 'pepperoni' was spelled 'pep-q-t-roni' ("... because the 'q' and the 't' were silent."). He'd answer the phone when it rang and ask, "Is Bob there?" His deeper side would bring out wonderings and ponderings that would challenge us to face something or be prepared to answer something.
We will miss him immeasurably. Jason is survived by his loving children: Leah, Megan, Jason Jr., and Gage; his grandchildren: Asher, Anabelle, Kaiden, Khloe, Lily, Easton, Madelyn, Oliver, and Adalyn; his parents: John Sr. & Florence; his siblings: Michelle (Thomas) Manley, John Strong Jr., William (Melissa) Strong, Deborah (Shaun) Estes, and Joella Cole; his nieces and nephews who adored him and an abundance of grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
