S.O.B. to those he loved

January 17, 1944 to October 14, 2025

Bob passed away quietly in his home with his beloved wife Cindy and Goldie, their dog, as I am sure he would have wanted.

Bob is predeceased by his parents Bud and Dotsie, his brother Marty and his son Dave.

Bob is survived by his daughter Donna (Duane) Smith, his son Ed, his stepsons Jim Dix, Steve (Leslie) Dix. 10 grandchildren, Rhiannon, Casey, Robbi, Shaley, Hunter, Patrick, Darian, Connor, Cody (Kortney), Shelby (Jasper). 8 Great Grandchildren, Hallie, Harper, Charlotte, Lia, Joey, Amora, Brianna, Ellie.

Bob proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1962-1964 aboard the USS Sullivans. Bob was also a proud lifetime member of Elks Lodge 2175, American Legion Post 806, a DAV lifetime member, and the S.A.S.S..

Bob will always be remembered as a hard-working man, but he also enjoyed his life. His love of racing 4-cylinder cars at the Afton raceway, cowboy shoots, turkey shoots at the Bainbridge Rod and Gun Club where he was also a long-time member, the cabin in the Adirondacks, woodworking and crafting so many gifts and toys for a never-ending stream of grand and great grandchildren, and most of all spending time with the love of his life, Cindy.

Friends and family can join us for a celebration of life on Saturday, October 25th, from 1-4pm at the American Legion in Sidney. Bring all your fun memories of Bob to share.

Bob will be missed by all who knew him, but most of all by Cindy.
