Heather Rene (Morgan) Beers, 37, of Oneonta, NY, passed away September 24, 2025, at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital with her family by her side after a long battle with colon cancer. She was born on September 26, 1987, in Sidney, NY to Wayne and Rebecca Morgan.

Heather was a 2005 graduate of Bainbridge-Guilford High School and was known for her infectious smile and uplifting personality. She was passionate about sports and was recruited to varsity volleyball in 8th grade. She continued to play through college and after graduation in adult leagues. Heather graduated from Cazenovia College in 2009 with a dual major in Elementary/Special Education. Additionally, she earned a Master's degree in 2011 from Grand Canyon University in Special Education. Heather dedicated her professional career to serving individuals with special needs, first as a special education teacher, and later as a coordinator of essential services and supports for children and adults with special needs. Through her work, Heather touched the lives of many, and she will be remembered for the difference she made. Upon leaving the workforce to focus on her treatment and family, Heather also became heavily involved as a volunteer at Valley View Elementary School, where her presence will be missed.

Heather shared a deeply loving 10-year marriage with her husband, Carl, with whom she enjoyed annual summer trips to the Carlisle All Truck Nationals to see her Sy-Ty family, along with many other memorable trips, and home renovations to create a place filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Most importantly, Heather was a spectacular mom. She will be forever missed by her surviving family: her husband, Carl; her children, Lily and Kaden and her parents, Rebecca and Wayne Morgan. In addition to her family, Heather leaves behind an abundance of friends she gathered through every season of her life.

During Heather's cancer journey, she participated in a clinical trial; her case and findings will be presented at a global conference in Berlin and used to inform future cancer care and, hopefully, save lives.

Calling hours will be from 11:00 am -2:00 pm on October 4, 2025, at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel in Sidney, NY. A celebration of her life will be held afterward beginning at 3:00 pm at Club 55 in Sidney NY. In lieu of flowers or donations, schedule a colonoscopy; it may save your life.
