Richard L. Edwards, 67, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Richard was a man of many talents and passions. He especially enjoyed crafts and crocheting, taking long day trips with his beloved wife, Bonney, and camping or spending time with their dear friends at their country property. He also had a lifelong admiration for black bears.
Richard dedicated 40 years of hard work to Amphenol in Sidney, NY, before retiring. His kindness, humor, and devotion to family and friends will be remembered always.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 42 years, Bonney Edwards; his son, Matthew and daughter-in-law Sam Edwards of Carver, MA, daughter Amanda and "favorite son-in-law" DJ Simonds along with granddaughters Linzi and Aaliyah of Davenport Center NY and son Tracy Edwards of South New Berlin, NY, grandsons Nathan, Connor, and Bentley. He is also survived by his brothers Ted (Martha) Edwards of Sidney, NY, and Ron (Jodi) Edwards of Mt. Upton, NY. And many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Richard was predeceased by his parents, Theodore and Emma Edwards; sisters Donna Brazie, Charlene Frear, and Sandy Martz; and brothers George and John Edwards.
The family is planning a celebration of Richard's life, to be held in Sidney, NY, at the Amphenol Union Hall. Details will be announced in the near future.
Richard's legacy lives on in the love he shared and the countless memories he created with his family and friends.
