Linda Lee (Ostrander) Pope of Mt. Upton, passed away peacefully at A.O. Fox Nursing Home, surrounded by loved ones, where she had resided with comfort and care since the onset of Alzheimer's Disease.

Born on November 4, 1940, in Rockdale, NY, Linda was the beloved daughter of the late Ruth (Kruger) and Walter Ostrander. She was a proud graduate of Mt Upton School class of '58 and spent most of her life in the Rockdale and Mt. Upton communities.

Linda was the devoted wife of the late Albert "Al" Pope Sr., with whom she shared 58 years of marriage before his passing in December 2015. Together, they made a life and raised a family in Mt. Upton, instilling strong values and deep love, into their home.

She worked as a cafeteria aide at Mt. Upton Central School while her children attended, and later held positions at Grand Union, Price Chopper, and Tops of Sidney. Linda was also a proud and active member of the Mt. Upton Fire Department Auxiliary for many years.

A woman of many joys, Linda loved gardening alongside Al, knitting, canning, playing cards, listening to country music, and preserving the fruits of their labor. She could often be found sitting on her porch, delighting in the hummingbirds visiting her plants. She also enjoyed traveling, cooking, and hosting family gatherings—always welcoming others with warmth and care.

Linda is survived by her seven children: Albert Pope Jr. (Dorothy), Nancy LoPresti (Edward), Wayne Pope (Susie), Jeff Pope (Teresa), Timothy Pope, Connie Wildenstein (Brian Banks), and Dennis Pope; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Albert; her parents; sisters Thelma Peck, Pauline Partridge, Luella Puffer; and brothers Carroll Ostrander, Howard Ostrander, Kenneth Ostrander, and Donald Ostrander

Family and friends are invited to call on August 20th, 2025, from 6 pm to 8 pm at C.H. Landers Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Sidney, NY. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home the following day August 21st, 2025, at 11 am. The burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery, Mt. Upton, where Linda will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband and other family members.
